Illinois Stewardship Alliance: ISA is a state-wide membership based non-profit alliance between farmers and consumers. ISA promotes ecologically sustainable, economically viable, socially just local food systems through policy development, advocacy and education. In the Springfield area, ISA organizes the annual “Local Flavors” lunch and dinner series, the “Buy Fresh Buy Local – Central Illinois” local food guide, and is the lead organization in the Springfield Area Local Food Task Force. ISA is working around the state and with legislators in the Illinois General Assembly to address public policy issues regarding the building of local food systems in Illinois.
